Brashear at North Shelby Tuesday

The Tigers and Raiders each come away with a victory on the night in non-conference action.

The North Shelby Lady Raiders played a strong first quarter ending the period with an 11-10 lead. The 2nd quarter belonged to the Lady Tigers as they outscored their opponents 15-2 to take a 25-13 halftime lead. Brashear extended their lead to 36-20 after 3 quarters and got the win 48-28. Brashear's Christina Scudder led all scorers with a 13 point double-double effort. Kimberly Elsea had 11 points, Chelsey Collop added 10, Ashley Clarkson had 6, Hailee Kelsey had 4, and Jessi Hill and Caroline Slavin scored 2 points each. Robin Bichsel and Jillian Yoder led North Shelby with 6 each, Amanda Orr and Danielle Rich had 4 each, Andrea Tuggle had 3, Jessica Trenhaile and Hillary Henderson added 2 each, and Olivia Ahern scored 1 point.

In the boys game, North Shelby outscored the Tigers in each of the 1st three quarters before Brashear closed the gap with a 17 point 4th quarter. The Raiders led 14-8 after 1 quarter, 28-14 at halftime, and 40-21 after 3. The final score was North Shelby 51 - Brashear 38. For Brashear, Kale Watson scored 9 points, Kiley Watson had 6, David Anderson and Jacob Shipman had 5 each, Matt Thomas and Trae Treasure had 4 each, Justin Hazen added 3 and Koty Hayden scored 2 points. North Shelby had a trio in double figures with Justin Bevil, Landon Daniel, and Brian Trenhaile scoring 11, 10 and 10 respectively. Dahn Kemp added 8, Josh McEwen had 5, Michael Stoneburner had 4, and B.R. Parsons scored 3 points.
