Brashear vs Macon County August 30, 2007

The host Tigers pick up a pair of wins Thursday night in conference action.

The 3 runs the Lady Tigers scored in the 1st inning were all the offense they needed, but they tacked on another 12 to shorten the 16-0 game to only 4 innings. Abby McKim and Hailee Kelsey both had hits, Stephanie Elsea had a pair of hits, and Christina Scudder went 3 for 3 on the night. Scudder threw a no-hit shutout striking out 7 and only missing a perfect game by a pair of walks. Brashear evens their season record at 1-1 and will visit conference rival Linn County Friday August 31st.

In the baseball game, Brashear got on the scoreboard with a run in the 1st. Macon County answered in the top of the 2nd on a 3-run homer by Rowe. Macon County's only other run came on a Bailey homer in the 3rd. Meanwhile Brashear scored 7 in the bottom of the 2nd to take a lead for good finishing the game in 5-innings with an 18-4 victory. Matt Thomas, Jacob Shipman, and Michael McKim each had homers for the Tigers. Jacob Shipman got the win fanning 10 while scattering 5 hits. The Tigers are 1-0 on the season.
