Bevier at Brashear October 28, 2008

Lady Tigers pick up A and B wins, but the Tigers come up short in JH basketball action.

In the girls A game, the score was tied 6-6 after the 1st and Bevier led 13-10 at half-time. Brashear outscored the Wildcats 6-1 in the third to take a 16-14 lead, then held on for the 22-20 win. Katie Smith paced Brashear with 7 points, Shelby Salter added 6, Meredith Thomas had 5, and Kayla Snelling scored 4 points. For Bevier, Cheyenne Shelmadine led with 10 points, Beth Ashenfelter and Hallie Smith had 4 points each, and Christina Templeton and Alex Fesler scored 1 point each.

The boys A game was a hotly contested one with Brashear leading 11-9 after the 1st and 21-20 at the half. The score was tied 28-28 after 3 quarters and Brashear took a 7 point lead in the 4th before Bevier scored 9 points with under a minute left to pull out the win by a score of 46-41. For Brashear, Joe Clarkson scored 15, Taren Treasure had 10, Nick Thomas added 9, Joseph Woods had 4, and Andy Belzer scored 3 points. Bevier was led by McKenzey Pipes with 22, Brett Peukert had 18, Aaron Peter had 4, and Jonathan Basler scored 2 points.

The Lady Tiger B squad got 6 points from Alexa Acton, 4 from Kayla Snelling and 3 points from Nikki Moncrief on their way to a 13-3 win. For Bevier, Shiloh Wilson had 2 points, and Alex Fesler scored 1 point.

Tristin Smith and Andy Belzer had 2 points each for the Tiger B squad in their 8-4 loss. Bevier's Jacob Tolle had 5 points, Andrew Peter had 2, and Jean Fiquet scored 1 point.
