Brashear at Bucklin October 30, 2008

The Tigers JH Basketball teams pick up conference road wins Thursday.

The evening started with a 2-quarter girls B game. Brashear got 8 point in the 1st and another 8 points in the 2nd quarter to claim a 16-2 win. Ashley Moncrief had 6 points for Brashear, Nikki Moncrief and Olivia Thompson had 4 points each, and Kayla Snelling scored 2 points. For Bucklin, Shanahan scored 2 points.

In the girls A game, Brashear led 5-2 after 1 quarter, 11-5 at half, and 15-9 after 3 quarters on their way to a 24-19 win. Meredith Thomas led Brashear with 10 points, Shelby Salter had 9, Kayla Snelling had 3, and Katie Smith scored 2 points. Hanson led Bucklin with 5 points.

The boys game was a see-saw battle with Brashear leading 9-6 after 1 quarter, but Bucklin had taken a 15-14 lead at halftime. Bucklin still lead 23-22 after 3 quarters, but Brashear outscored Bucklin 4-0 in the final frame to win 26-23. For Brashear, Joe Clarkson had 12 points, Hayden Housman added 7, Taren Treasure had 5, and Nick Thomas scored 2 points. Bucklin was paced by Kitchen with 8 points.
