The Tigers pick up a non-conference road win while the Lady Tigers fall to the Lady Mustangs.
The Lady Tigers fell behind early as Marion County's press allowed the Lady Mustangs to run up a 16-6 lead after 1 quarter and a 34-15 lead at halftime. Marion County continued to extend their lead to 55-19 at the end of the third quarter and picked up the win 61-24. For Brashear, Macy Rogers had 9 points, Caroline Slavin added 5, Stephanie Elsea and Shelby Rogers had 4 points each, and Emily Ladwig scored 2 points. Morgan Spratt scored 14 points for Marion County, Jordan Johnson added 13, Randi Plunkett had 10, Jessica Redd had 6, Kayla Tuley, Rachelle Sharpe, Kayla Bridgman, and Ranay Sharpe had 4 points each, and Kim Shuck scored 2 points.
The boys contest looked like an even match in the early part of the 1st quarter before Brashear began to pull away 17-11 at the end of the first frame. The Tigers extended their lead to 31-16 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Brashear led 54-29 and the Tigers continued on to pick up the win by a margin of 63-40. Brashear had 4 players in double figures. Kiley Watson scored 15 points, Ryan Ferdig had 14, Anthony Ambrosia had 12, Justin Hazen had 11, Matt Thomas had 8, and Cody Snelling scored 3 points. For Marion County, Austin Redd scored 13 points, Nathan Wikowsky had 12, David Spratt scored 6, Dustin Boch had 5, and R.D. Nagel scored 4 points. The Tigers improve to 6-0 and are now ranked 10th in Missouri Class 1A.
