Brashear at Macon County February 25, 2010

The Tigers and Raiders split a pair of Tri-County Conference basketball games.

In the girls' game, Brashear fell behind 10-4 after one quarter and trailed 22-16 at halftime. The Macon County lead was 30-20 after 3 quarters, and a 4th quarter Brashear rally fell short with Macon County hanging on for a 41-37 win. Stephanie Elsea scored 14 points for Brashear, Shelby Salter had 6, Katie Smith added 5, and Abby McKim, Sydney Slavin, and Megan Taylor scored 4 points each. For Macon County, Abby Lusher scored 13 points, Hanna Souther added 9, Sara Duncan had 8, Jackie Rowe had 6, Cassandra Peterson and Shelbie Nolte had 2 each, and Amanda Lochner scored 1 point.

In the boys' game, Macon County got on the scoreboard first, but Brashear managed a 15-10 lead after one quarter and led 24-19 at halftime. Brashear played much stronger in the second half extending their lead to 41-28 after 3 quarters on their way to a 59-37 win. Matt Thomas had 18 points for Brashear, Nick Thomas added 11, Anthony Ambrosia and Taren Treasure had 10 each, Joe Clarkson had 8, and Zach Reeves scored 2 points. For Macon County, Wade Burstert scored 18 points, Tommy Moore had 6, Ethan Thompson and Christopher Nolte had 4 each, Aaron Maddox had 3, and Grant Gall scored 2 points.
