Brashear vs Bevier boys March 1, 2010

Despite a strong 1st half, the Tigers fall to Bevier in a 1st round district game.

The Brashear Tigers got off to a quick start in their 1st round district game with Bevier. Brashear jumped out to a 16-7 1st quarter lead, and led 33-25 at halftime. The tables were turned in the 3rd quarter as Brashear's shooting turned cold allowing the hot-shooting Bevier to take a 50-38 lead. Brashear battled back in the 4th quarter pulling within 1 point late, but Bevier scored 10 points from the charity stripe in the final quarter holding off Brashear's late charge for a 64-61 win. Anthony Ambrosia scored 21 points for Brashear, Matt Thomas added 20, Taren Treasure had 12, Jay Scudder scored 5, Zach Reeves had 2, and Joe Clarkson scored 1 point. For Bevier, Drew Kerns scored 30 points, Jesse Shelmadine chipped in 12, Wade Teter had 10, Dalton Livingston had 7, McKenzie Pipes had 3, and Andy McGhee scored 2 points.

In a side note, Tiger center Jay Scudder returned for limited action after being cleared to play just hours before the game after sitting out for 6 weeks with a knee injury. Tiger forward Adam Songer was unable to play due to an ankle injury suffered during the Brashear Tournament. The Tigers 2009-2010 season ended with a 7-18 record.
