Bevier Baseball at Brashear April 29, 2010

The host Tigers sweep a varsity/JV double-header.

A leadoff walk by Pipes and a Yount home run staked Bevier to a 1st inning lead, but it wouldn't stand up as Brashear answered with 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st and 2 more in the 2nd. Bevier scored again in the 3rd on a 3-run Shelmadine homer, but Brashear answered with 3 in the bottom of the 3rd including a Hayden Housman home run and 4 in the 4th including a Matt Thomas home run. Bevier's last scoring came in the 5th as they scored 3 more, but Brashear put up 2 more in the 6th to claim a 17-8 win. For Brashear, Hayden Coin, Matt Thomas, Cody Snelling, and Jay Scudder had 2 hits each, with Hayden Housman, Adam Songer, and Nick Thomas also having hits. For Bevier, Pipes had 3 hits, Shelmadine and Yount had 2 hits each, and Basler had a hit. Cody Snelling got the win for Brashear striking out 9, with Matt Thomas pitching an inning of relief with 2 strikeouts. McGhee took the loss for Bevier with Yount and Shelmadine pitching in relief. Brashear took the JV game by a score of 3-2.
