Linn County at Brashear August 27, 2010
The Lady Tigers cruise to an easy win, but the Tigers' baseball home opener is ruined by the Mustangs.
In the softball game, Brashear scored twice in the 1st inning, 5 times in the 2nd and finished the game early with 8 runs in the 3rd to pick up a 15-0 win over the visiting Linn County Lady Mustangs. Abby McKim had a pair of doubles for Brashear, Katie Watson had 3 singles, and Meredith Thomas, Cierra Hines, Shelby Salter, Ashley Watson, Sydney Slavin, and Kristen Love also had hits. Cammie Ward and Hannah Hoskins had hits for Linn County. Cierra Hines was the winning pitcher striking out 4 and Cammie Ward took the loss for Linn County.
The Tiger baseball team got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first, but Linn County answered with a pair in the top of the 2nd and the see-saw battle was on. Brashear put up another 5 runs in the 2nd featuring home runs by Adam Songer, Hayden Housman, and Nick Bradshaw. Linn County tied the game at 6-6 with 4 runs in the top of the 3rd, but Brashear pulled ahead 7-6 in the bottom of the 3rd. The score stood tied 8-8 after the 4th, but Linn County outscored Brashear 4-1 in the late innings to take a 12-9 win. Adam Songer, Hayden Housman, Hayden Coin, Cody Snelling, Nick Thomas, Jay Scudder, and Nick Bradshaw had hits for Brashear. Blake Woodside had a homerun for Linn County and Jonathon Hostetter, Marc Jungles, Josh Allan, and Ty Stillwell also had hits. Hayden Coin got the start for Brashear with Cody Snelling pitching in relief. Jonathon Hostetter and Josh Allan pitched for Linn County.
