Brashear JH Basketball at Bucklin October 29, 2010

Friday night, the Brashear Tigers visited the conference rival Bucklin Bulldogs. The girls' game was close throughout the 1st half with Bucklin leading 8-7 at the end of the 1st quarter and Brashear leading 15-14 at halftime. Bucklin came on strong in the 2nd half outscoring Brashear 11-4 in the 3rd quarter and 10-3 in the 4th quarter to win 35-22. Ashley Moncrief and Alexa Acton each scored 6 points for Brashear, Allison Thompson added 4, and Skylar Housman and Allison Garrett each had 3 points. Krislyn Maness scored 19 for Bucklin, Kelsey Almond had 6, Savannah Jochem had 5, Shania Cashatt added 3, and Rachel Akins scored 2 points.

The Bucklin boys' jumped out to a 11-5 lead after 1 quarter, but Brashear closed the gap to 15-13 at halftime. The game continued to be close with Brashear down by only a bucket at 25-23 at the end of the 3rd quarter, but Bucklin pulled away in the final frame to win 43-32. Luke Morrow scored 13 points for Brashear with Jacob Reeves adding 11. Chance Hill had 4, Gabe Thomas had 3, and Sam Smith scored 1 point. For Bucklin, Dakota Peterson had 17, Tristan Harter had 9, Cyrus Hanson, Tim Ware, and Jacob Maldanado scored 5 each, and Kurt Anderson scored 2 points.
