Atlanta JH Tournament 2nd Round Results November 11, 2010

The Brashear girls played Bevier in the consolation semi-finals Thursday night. The teams battled to a 4-4 tie after one quarter. Bevier jumped out to a 7 point lead early in the 2nd quarter, but Brashear stormed back to take a 12-11 lead into halftime. Brashear extended their lead to 20-15 after 3 quarters and led by 7 at one point in the 4th. Bevier battled back to pull within 1 point late, but Brashear held on for a 24-23 win. Allison Thompson and Skylar Housman were in double figures for Brashear with12 and 10 points, and Nikki Moncrief scored 2 points. For Bevier, Memphis Buster scored 10 points, Shiloh Wilson had 7, Alyssa Gunnels had 4, and Rachel Lowe scored 2 points.

The Brashear boys faced Atlanta in a consolation semi-final game Thursday. Atlanta led 11-4 after 1 quarter and 25-8 at halftime. Brashear had their best quarter scoring 9 points in the 3rd, but Atlanta continued to outscore Brashear and took the win 48-24. For Brashear, Brody Henrichs scored 7 points, Tristen Smith added 6, Luke Morrow had 4, Patrick Jochimsen had 3, and Gabe Thomas and Jacob Reeves scored 2 points each. Atlanta was led by Lance Weber with 16, Collan Thrasher had 12, Lane Waddle scored 6, Marty Halley had 4, Garrett West had 3, Korbin Gunnels, Tristen Collier, and Kaleb Tipton had 2 each, and Justin Grigsby scored 1 point.
