Brashear at Atlanta January 3, 2012

The Brashear Lady Tigers jumped out to a 13-8 lead over Atlanta Tuesday night, but Atlanta came back to take a 24-19 lead into halftime. Atlanta still led 37-33 at the end of 3 quarters. The 4th quarter took it's toll on Atlanta's 6-girl squad as 1st one player, then another fouled out leaving Atlanta with only 4 players on the floor. At this time, with a 5-point lead, Atlanta coach Jason Daniels picked up a pair of technical fouls, sending Brashear's Shelby Salter to the line. Salter hit all 4 freethows pulling Brashear within 1 point. Brashear finally regained the lead and held on to win 47-46. Meredith Thomas scored 11 points for Brashear, Shelby Salter added 10, Katie Smith had 7, Miranda Creason had 6, Alexa Acton and Chandi March had 4 each, Nikki Moncrief had 3, and Olivia Thompson scored 2 points. For Atlanta, Samantha Reed scored 19 points, Shaiyla Collier and Amelia Smothers had 8 each, Maddie Cuppy had 7, Ashton Ross had 4, and Kathy Baker scored 2 points.

The Atlanta boys took an 11-9 lead after one quarter and led 25-24 at the end of a closely contested 1st half. Atlanta outscored Brashear by 5 in the 3rd quarter to widen their lead to 38-32 on their way to a 50-37 win. Taren Treasure scored 12 points for Brashear, Hayden Housman and Joe Clarkson had 11 each, Tristan Smith had 2, and Nick Bradshaw scored 1 point. For Atlanta, Lance Webber scored 14, Mick Garnett added 11, Vincent Elrod had 9, Zach Brown had 5, Dylan Hruska score 4, Dale Magers had 3, and Lane Waddle and Tagan Brookhart scored 2 points each.
