The Host Tigers Sweep a Pair

In Monday night's girls' game between Brashear and Scotland County, it didn't take long for Scotland County to put Brashear behind the 8 ball. Scotland County led 19-3 after one quarter of play and took a 33-6 lead into halftime. By the end of the 3rd quarter, the lead was 43-11 and Scotland County won by a final score of 51-13. Ashley Moncrief scored 4 points for Brashear, Shelby Salter had 3, and Miranda Creason, Meredith Thomas, and Alexa Acton scored 2 points each. For Scotland County, Randi Slaughter scored 13 points, Megan Creek added 12, Cali Holt had 10, Courtney Jackson had 7, Kiley Frazier and Jessica Morrow had 4 each, and Hailey Dial scored 1 point.

The Scotland County boys also got off to a quick start, leading 14-6 after one quarter, and 38-13 at halftime. Scotland County extended their lead to 53-22 after 3 quarters and won by a score of 68-35. Taren Treasure scored 14 points for Brashear, Joseph Woods added 11, Joe Clarkson had 6, and Hayden Housman and Jacob Reeves scored 2 points each. For Scotland County, Harley Stone and Andrew Mathes scored 14 points each, Cordie Kigar had 13, Brice Cowell added 10, Jacob Blessing and Drew Miller had 8 each, and Zach Miller scored 1 point.
