North Shelby Tournament Tuesday January 17, 2012

The Brashear and Marion County boys squared off in the late game Tuesday. Marion County jumped out to a 17-8 lead after one quarter, then Marion County's J.J. Chatfield exploded for 18 points in the 2nd quarter to put Marion County up 38-20 at the half. Marion County led 61-30 after 3 quarters and won 74-38. Hayden Housman and Taren Treasure scored 12 each for Brashear, Joseph Woods added 6, Joe Clarkson had 4, and Nick Bradshaw, Chance Hill, and Sam Smith scored 2 points each. For Marion County, J.J. Chatfield scored 26 points, Clay Pollard had 12, Geoffrey Bimson had 10, Kason Spratt and Reed Plunkett had 8 each, Luke Stratton and Logan Krigbaum had 4 each, and A.J. Wellman scored 2 points.

The Marion County girls were also winners as they downed Palmyra JV 71-19. The Scotland County boys topped Schuyler County 74-52 and the Knox County girls beat Schuyler County 61-30.
