Brashear at Green City January 24, 2012

On Tuesday night, Brashear visited Green City for a Tri-County Conference basketball double-header. The girls' game was a close one with Green City leading 11-10 after one quarter and 25-17 at the half. Brashear came back to take the lead in the third quarter with Green City leading 29-28 after 3 quarters. It was anyone's game, with the score tied at 35-35 with 3:11 left, but Green City outscored Brashear in the last 3 minutes to win 52-39. Shelby Salter scored 11 points for Brashear, Olivia Thompson added 9, Meredith Thomas had 7, Katie Smith had 6, and Miranda Creason, Ashley Moncrief, and Chandi March scored 2 points each. For Green City, Cheyanne Heaton scored 19 points, Emily Sorenson had 13, Maren Hatcher had 8, Alicia Albrecht had 6, and Raeanne Kilgore scored 4 points.

In the boys' game, Green City forced Tiger turnovers and shot well to jump out to a 25-9 lead after one quarter and led 45-27 at the half. Brashear almost matched Green City point for point in the 3rd quarter with Green City maintaining a 68-49 lead, but Green City pulled away in the 4th winning 91-61. Taren Treasure scored 19 points for Brashear, Joe Clarkson added 18, Hayden Housman had 15, Joseph Woods had 4, Sam Smith had 3, and Marcus Jefferson and Jeremy Barnes scored 2 points each. For Green City, Christopher Hoerrmann hit 10 3-pointers and had 32 points, Matt Riddle had 14, Aaron Conner added 9, Joey Hepler and Cody Holt scored 7 each, Michael Riddle and Hadley Williams had 5 each, Keagan Franey and Jacob Hubbard had 4 each, and Sam Richards and Jared Brundage scored 2 points each.
