Brashear Baseball at North Shelby March 20, 2012

The Brashear Tigers kicked off their spring 2012 baseball season on the road at North Shelby. Brashear got on the scoreboard in the top of the 1st as leadoff hitter Hayden Housman tripled, then Nick Bradshaw drove him home two batters later with a sacrifice fly. That was all of the scoring until North Shelby pushed across a run in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the game at 1-1. The host Raiders, pushed across another pair of runs in the 4th to lead 3-1, then exploded for 5 runs in the 5th to lead 8-1. Brashear scored 2 more in the 6th as Joe Clarkson, Luke Morrow, Blake Pflum, and Sam Smith strung together 4 singles. The other Tiger run came in the 7th as Nick Bradshaw walked and Blake Pflum singled him in. The Raiders added another run in the 6th to make the final score North Shelby 9 - Brashear 4. For Brashear, Hayden Housman had a pair of triples, Blake Pflum had 2 hits, and Joe Clarkson, Luke Morrow, and Sam Smith also had hits. Trenhaile had 3 hits to lead North Shelby. Nick Bradshaw took the loss for Brashear, going 5 innings with Hayden Housman pitching 1 inning of relief. Arnott was the winning pitcher for North Shelby.
