Brashear kicked off their 2012 baseball and softball seasons at home, hosting the Linn County Mustangs. In the softball game, Brashear scored a run in the first and 3 more in the 2nd to build a 4-0 lead, but Linn County had a big 3rd inning taking the lead 5-4. Linn County would go on to win the game 6-5. Angela McKim had a triple for Brashear with Meredith Thomas, Alexa Acton, Audrey DeBie, Nicole Wagster, and Ashley Moncrief also having hits. Hullinger, Bushwell, and Ward had hits for Linn County. Alexa Acton took the loss for Brashear with Ward pitching for Linn County.

The baseball game started with Linn County scoring a pair in the top of the 1st and Brashear answering with a pair of their own in the bottom of the 1st. Brashear would score 4 more in the 3rd to lead 6-3, but Linn County exploded for 13 runs in the 5th to win 16-6. Hayden Housman, Curtis Blakely, Nick Bradshaw, Luke Morrow, and David Walker had hits for Brashear. Allen and Jung homered for Linn County, with Stillwell, Wood, Hostetter, and Woodside also having hits. Nick Bradshaw, Hayden Housman, and Chance Hill pitched for Brashear with Stillwell working the mound for Linn County.
