Brashear at Bucklin/Macon County September 18, 2012

The Brashear Tigers traveled to Bucklin to play the Bucklin/Macon County co-op team Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a quick 4-2 lead in the first inning, then added 5 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, and 5 in the 4th to claim a 19-2 conference win. Audrey DeBie went 2 for 3 for Brashear with a triple and a single, with Meredith Thomas, Ashley Moncrief, Abby Hall, Alexa Acton, Mandy Taylor, and Allie Garrett also having hits. Jochem had Bucklin/Macon County's only hit. Alexa Acton picked up the win for Brashear giving up 1 hit and striking out 7. Gall took the loss for Bucklin/Macon County.

The boy's game was a more closely contested affair. Brashear got on the scoreboard in the 1st as Nick Bradshaw hit a 3-run homer to give the Tigers the early lead. Bucklin/Macon County answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first to close the score to 3-2. Brashear posted single runs in the 3rd and 5th with Bucklin/Macon County getting a pair in the 3rd, and a run in the sixth to knot the score at 5-all. Brashear pulled ahead for good in the top of the 7th as Hayden Housman delivered a 2-run double and later scored to give Brashear an 8-5 win. Nick Bradshaw went 3 for 4 for Brashear with a home run with Hayden Housman and Lucas Grgurich also having hits. Nolte, Robertson, Akins, McCollum, and Kincannon had hits for Bucklin/Macon County. Hayden Housman got the start for Brashear, going 5 innings and striking out 8. Nick Bradshaw got the win in relief pitching 2 innings of 1-hit ball and striking out 4. Liebhart took the loss for Bucklin/Macon County.
