Brashear Hosts Bevier For TCC Baseball/Softball Games September 21, 2012

Friday night's softball game between Brashear and Bevier was an important one with conference title implications. Both teams had only one loss in conference and the winner would at least share part of the Tri-County Conference title. Bevier jumped out to an early 3-1 lead after one inning, but Brashear battled back to lead 4-3 after 3 innings. Bevier retook the lead 6-5 after 4 innings, but Brashear scored 7 runs in the 5th and looked like they had the game wrapped up. Bevier wasn't finished and scored 4 in the 6th, but Brashear held on to win 12-11. Meredith Thomas, Ashley Moncrief, Alexa Acton, Shelby Salter, Mandy Taylor, Alli Garrett, Audrey DeBie, and Sidney Sykes all had hits for Brashear. Edmunds, Buster, Wilson, Ashenfelter, Hadworth, Schultz, and Gunnels had hits for Bevier. Alexa Acton pitched for Brashear for the win with Audrey DeBie picking up the save in relief. Buster took the loss for Bevier.

The baseball game stayed close through the early innings. Leading 10-6, Bevier broke out to take a 16-6 lead and won by a final score of 16-8.
