The Brashear Lady Tigers JH basketball team faced host Green City Thursday night in the Green City Tournament. Brashear scored first, but Green City's relentless defensive pressure held Brashear's scoring in check, allowing Green City to take a 6-3 lead after one quarter and a 17-6 lead at halftime. Green City continued to outscore Brashear in the 2nd half and won by a final score of 31-10. Caitlee Hall and Saydie Potter each scored 4 points for Brashear with Abigail Kerby adding 2 points. For Green City, Taylor Musselman scored 7 points, Blythe LaFaver added 6, Natalie Ayers and Rachel Search had 4 each, Shawnee Noland had 3, Shawnee Dolan and Abigail Morris had 2 each, and Nikita Powell scored 1 point.

The Brashear boys team also faced Green City in their Thursday night game. Green City came out pressing hard and converted numerous turnovers into points. The Gophers held Brashear scoreless in the first quarter to take a 26-0 lead and were up 40-8 at halftime. Brashear never could get their offense to click and scored only 1 point in the 2nd half as Green City won by a margin of 63-9. Jacob Bleything scored 5 points for Brashear, Colt Acton had 2, and Brody Henrichs and Tyler Watson had 1 point each. For Green City, Alex Barto scored 13 points, Ryan Peavler and Tyler Harp added 8 each, Zach Ayers and Kerby Barnes had 7 each, Bradley Heath scored 6 points, Jacob Chase and Wes Straley had 4 each, and Hunter Chase and Cameron Albrecht scored 3 points each.
