Atlanta JH Basketball at Brashear October 15, 2012

The Brashear Tigers played host to the Atlanta Hornets Monday night. The Lady Tigers took a 4-0 lead after 1 quarter and were up 14-3 at half. Atlanta came out fired up after the halftime break and closed the score to 18-16 after 3 quarters. The game was too close to call throughout the 4th quarter, but Brashear hung on for the 24-21 win. Abigail Kerby scored 6 points for Brashear, Kacie Mihalovich, Caitlee Hall, and Syney Sykes had 4 each, and Kylie Williams and Saydie Potter scored 3 points each. For Atlanta, Jordan Teter scored 10 points, Alisha Strausbaugh added 5, Molly Waddle had 4, and Ashtin Grigsby scored 3 points.

The boys game was all Atlanta as they jumped out to 22-8 lead after one quarter and led 34-10 at halftime. The 2nd half was more of the same as Atlanta cruised to a 55-19 win. Brody Henrichs scored 11 points for Brashear, Devin Morrison and LUcas Grgurich had 3 each, and Colt Acton scored 2 points. For Atlanta, Garrett West scored 24 points, Tyler Thurman added 11, Tristin Collier had 7, Corey Smothers had 6, Matt Howlett had 4, and Eric Baker scored 3 points.
