Brashear JH Basketball at Bucklin October 26, 2012 Friday night, the Brashear Tiger JH Basketball teams traveled to Bucklin to face the Bucklin/Macon County coop team. Brashear got off to a slow start in the girls game with Bucklin jumping out to an 11-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Brashear got on track in the 2nd quarter and closed the deficit to 14-10 at halftime. A strong 3rd quarter by Bucklin proved too much for Brashear as Bucklin won the game by a final score of 36-27. Sidney Sykes scored 9 points for Brashear, Kylie Williams added 5, Hailey Lawrence and Caitlee Hall had 4 each, Kacey Mihalovich had 3, and Saydie Potter scored 2 points. For Bucklin, Cheyenne Peterson scored 12 points, Megan Liebhart had 11, Damara Riley added 5, Faythe Salman had 4, and Kellen Robertson and Emily Jamison scored 2 points each. The Bucklin boys team jumped on Brashear early, leading 20-6 after the first quarter and 38-12 at halftime. Bucklin continued their scoring trend in the 2nd half while Brashear faded as Bucklin won by a final score of 75-15. Patrick Jochimsen scored 6 points for Brashear, Jacob Bleything and Marshall Goff had 3 each, Colt Acton had 2, and Ty Gottman scored 1 point. Bucklin had 5 scorers in double figures. Brenden McKim and River Wright scored 15 points each, Dallas Epperson had 12, Dane Robertson and Cyrus Hanson had 11 each, Curtis Mossbarger and Justin Mossbarger had 4 each, and Berett Duncan scored 2 points.
