Novinger JH Basketball at Brashear October 30, 2012

The Novinger Wildcats visited Brashear Tuesday night for JH Basketball. The Brashear girls got on scoreboard 1st, leading 11-4 after one quarter of play. The Lady Tigers extended the lead to double digits, but Novinger made a run before halftime closing to 19-12 at the half. Novinger kept their momentum after the half and only trailed 29-24 after 3 quarters of play. Brashear finally rallied in the 4th to pull away for a 40-27 win. Brashear's Caitlee Hall led all scorers with 19 points, Sidney Sykes added 6, Kylie Williams and Saydie Potter had 4 each, Kacey Mihalovich, Abigail Kerby, and Mechelia Potter had 2 each, and Hailey Lawrence scored 1 point. For Novinger, Haley Rogers scored 10 points, Holly Findling had 7, Michelle Crooks had 4, and Jenna Klingsmith scored 2 points.

The boys game was all Novinger, as the Wildcats jumped out to a 30-0 first quarter lead and a 43-8 lead at halftime. The second half was no better for the Tigers with Novinger coasting to a 71-19 win. Colt Acton scored 7 points for Brashear, Jacob Bleything had 4, and Ty Gottman, Brody Henrichs, Devin Morrison, and Tyler Watson scored 2 points each. For Novinger, Trae Brownell scored 21 points, Kail Smith had 19, Bailey McDannald had 9, Tristan Wilson, Cody Potter, and Mikey Ortega had 4 each, and Brett Findling scored 1 point.
