Brashear JH Basketball at Linn County November 1, 2012

A 13-0 first quarter powered the Linn County Lady Mustangs to a victory over Brashear Thursday. Brashear got on the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter, but trailed 18-4 at halftime. The second half saw Linn County continue to outscore the Lady Tigers as they cruised to a 32-12 win. Robbyn Wagster and Sidney Sykes scored 4 each for Brashear and Caitlee Hall and Kylie Williams scored 2 points each. For Linn County, Alexis Miller scored 8 points, Kiley Stillwell and Brooklyn Murrell had 6 each, Sydney Moore had 4, Joslyn Seals added 3, Blair Buswell and Taylor Coram had 2 each, and Shaina Russell scored 1 point.

Neither team did much scoring in the first quarter of the boys game with Linn County holding a slim 4-2 lead, but the Mustangs picked up the pace in the 2nd quarter to lead 22-8 at halftime. Brashear never did get on track offensively in the 2nd half and Linn County pulled away for a 45-14 win. Marshall Goff led Brashear scoring with 9 points, Ty Gottman and Brody Henrichs had 2 each, and Colt Acton scored 1 point. For Linn County, Dusten Coke scored 15 points, Cole Hullinger added 10, Elisha Waltz had 9, Trent Barker had 4, Dillan Cordray, Jamison Hostetter, and Kyle Ward had 2 each, and Tristen Miller scored 1 point.
