Monday night kicked off first round action in the Atlanta Tournament. On the girls side, Bucklin/Macon County defeated Bevier 44-28 and Green City downed Novinger 25-6. The Novinger boys topped Atlanta 53-39.

The Brashear boys faced off against Green City in the early boys game. The two teams traded a bucket each before Green City exploded for 16 first quarter points while holding Brashear to just a single bucket. Brashear got on the scoreboard for 7 points in the 2nd quarter, but Green City kept up their scoring pulling away to a 33-9 lead at halftime. In the 2nd half, Green City had a strong 3rd quarter scoring 13 to Brashear's 4 points to cruise to a 57-18 win. Colt Acton scored 8 points for Brashear, Patrick Jochimsen added 4, Brody Henrichs had 3, Marshall Goff had 2, and Ty Gottman scored 1 point. For Green City, Alex Barto and Hunter Chase shared scoring honors with 12 points each, Tyler Harp had 10, Bradley Heath added 6, Kerby Barnes had 5, Jacob Chase and Camden Williams had 3 each, and Zach Ayers, Wes Straley, and Cameron Albrecht scored 2 points each.
