Mary Immaculate 7-8 Basketball at Brashear November 13, 2012

The Mary Immaculate Hawks visited Brashear last Tuesday to wrap up the Brashear JH season. In the girls game, Brashear raced out to a 14-5 lead after one quarter and led 22-7 at halftime. The Lady Tigers continued to put the ball through the hoop in the 2nd half as they pulled away for a 42-14 win. Saydie Potter led Brashear scoring with 12 points, Caitlee Hall added 11, Hannah Reeves scored 7, and Robbyn Wagster, Mechelia Potter, and Celia Kincaid scored 2 points each. For Mary Immaculate, Melina Mansfield scored 5 points, Annie Schwend had 4, Claire Benevento had 3, and Adriane Cole scored 2 points.

In the boys game, Mary Immaculate jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the first, but Brashear closed the gap to 14-12 at halftime. The Hawks pulled out to a 27-22 lead after three quarters, but Brashear would not go away. The game was close in the 4th with Brashear within 2 points late, but Mary Immaculate hung on for a 33-27 win. Colt Acton scored 10 points for Brashear, Devin Morrison had 5, Ty Gottman added 4, and Jacob Bleything and Tyler Watson scored 2 points each. For Mary Immaculate, Alex Herlith scored 12 points, Joey Hagar had 9, and Matt Schwend scored 4 points.
