Brashear at Green City December 7, 2012

The Brashear Tiger teams were on the road Friday night at Green City. The Lady Tigers and Lady Gophers traded points in the 1st quarter, but Brashear stalled at 7 as Green City pulled out to a 16-7 lead. Green City continued to have the hot hand in the 2nd quarter and led 28-11 at halftime. Brashear finally got their offense in gear in the 2nd half, eventually scoring 39 points, but Green City picked up the win by a final score of 57-39. Olivia Thompson scored 11 points for Brashear, Meredith Thomas and Miranda Creason added 7 each, Nikkie Moncrief had 6, Shelby Salter had 4, Allison Thompson scored 3 points, and Mandy Taylor scored 1 point. For Green City, Emily Sorenson, Alicia Albrecht, and Cheyanne Heaton were in double figures with 18, 14, and 10 points, Raeann Kilgore had 7, Marissa LaFaver had 4, and Shelby Dolan and Natalie Ayers scored 2 points each.

The Brashear boys came out pressuring the Gophers and led 7-5 after 1 quarter. Neither team could gain the advantage in the 2nd until Green City broke a 19-19 tie with a buzzer beater going into halftime. The 2nd half belonged to Green City as they outscored Brashear 20-5 in the third quarter and 18-10 in the fourth quarter to win 59-34. Hayden Housman led Brashear scoring with 15 points, Jacob Reeves had 8, Chance Hill had 7, and TJ Harrelson scored 4 points. Jared Brundage scored 21 for Green City, Zack Powell added 12, Keagan Franey, Wes Straly, and Carter King had 5 each, Hadley Williams had 4, Jarrett McCarty added 3, and Joey Heplar and Michael Riddle scored 2 points each.
