Brashear Baseball at Canton April 2, 2013

The Brashear Tigers played their season opener on the road Tuesday at Canton. They were scheduled to have already had several games under their belt by this point, but weather delayed the start of their season. Both teams went in order in the 1st inning, but Canton's Lucas Brown doubled to lead off the bottom of the 2nd and scored to give Canton a 1-0 lead. Canton broke through with 6 more runs in the third, and also added solo runs in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. Brashear's lone run came in the 6th inning on back to back hits by Hayden Housman and Nick Bradshaw. Canton won the 7 inning contest by a final score of 10-1. Brashear got hits from Curtis Blakely, Hayden Housman, Nick Bradshaw, Sam Smith, David Walker, and Chance Hill. For Canton, Lucas Brown, Reese Carmichael, Zach Dye, and Levi Gaus had hits. Nick Bradshaw got the start and took the loss for Brashear with Hayden Housman pitching in relief. Justin Fellinger picked up the win for Canton with Ben Logsdon and Collin Baker in relief.
