Brashear Baseball at Bevier April 25, 2013

A wet spring has made it hard for area baseball teams to stay sharp with numerous cancellations and postponements. Both Brashear and Bevier appeared a little "rusty" in the first inning of Thursday night's game. Brashear came out putting the bat on the ball and took advantage of some Bevier defensive miscues to post 5 runs. Bevier came right back with 4 runs of their own. Both teams settled down and the game was a defensive battle until the bottom of the 5th when Brashear failed to make some critical plays allowing Bevier to score twice to take a 6-5 lead. Neither team threatened again and 6-5 was the final score. Hayden Housman, Curtis Blakely, Luke Baker, Sam Smith, and Blake Pflum had hits for Brashear. Pipes, Peukert, and Shurvington had hits for Bevier. Nick Bradshaw took the loss for Brashear with Hayden Housman pitching in relief. Fiquet got the win for Bevier.
