Meadville Softball and Baseball at Brashear September 23, 2013

The Brashear Tigers played host to the Meadville Eagles Monday night for their 1st ever meeting since Meadville joined the Tri-County Conference. Neither team scored in the 1st inning of the softball game, but Meadville managed a run in the top of the 2nd. In the bottom of the 2nd, Brashear exploded for 7 runs on their way to a 5-inning 12-2 win. Meredith Thomas, Ashley Moncrief, Allie Garrett, Abigail Kerby, and Nikki Woods had hits for Brashear. Cowan, Neal, Shifflett, Boyd, and James had hits for Meadville. Alexa Acton picked up the win for Brashear with Shifflett pitching for Meadville.

The Brashear and Meadville baseball teams each scored twice in the 1st inning, but Meadville added another run in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 7th. Brashear added another run in the 3rd, 3 in the 6th, and 1 in the 7th, but fell short, losing 11-7. Luke Morrow homered for Brashear with Chance Hill, Gabe Thomas also having hits. Newlin, Palmer, Shiflett, and Friesner had hits for Meadville. Luke Morrow and Chance Hill pitched for Brashear with Corzette and Shiflett pitching for Meadville.
