Bucklin/Macon County Softball and Baseball at Brashear September 24, 2013
The Bucklin/Macon County baseball and softball teams travelled to Brashear Tuesday. The BMC girls got on the scoreboard quickly with 3 first innings runs. Brashear wasted no time, scoring 6 of their own in the bottom of the 1st. BMC scored twice more in the 3rd, but Brashear added 5 in the 2nd and 9 in the 3rd to end the game with a 20-5 win. Meridith Thomas, Alexa Acton, and Angela McKim all tripled for Brashear with Ashley Moncrief, Mandy Taylor, Sidney Sykes, Ashley Fortney, and Nichole Wagster also having hits. Peterson, Grinder, Gall, and J. Akins had hits for BMC. Alexa Acton picked up the win with Akins and Gall pitching for BMC.
The BMC boys ran away with the baseball game starting with a 6-run 1st inning. They added 2 in the 2nd, 9 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 5th on their way to a 21-3 win. Brashear's scoring started in the 4th as Luke Morrow tripled and was driven in by Jacob Bleything. Brashear picked up two more runs in the 5th as Sidney Sykes popped a ball over 1st base to reach. Chance Hill drove her in with a double and later scored to give Brashear their 3rd run. Chance Hill, Luke Morrow, Jacob Bleything, and Tristin Smith had hits for Brashear. Montoya homered for BMC with Ware, Duncan, Kincannon, B. Duncan, and Peterson having hits for BMC. Gabe Thomas, Colt Acton, and Jacob Bleything pitched for Brashear. Robertson pitched for BMC.
