Both Brashear JH basketball teams faced Novinger Friday night in the 3rd place games at the Green City Tournament. The Lady Tigers took the early lead 9-4 after one quarter and led Novinger 18-7 at halftime. Brashear continued to outscore Novinger in the 2nd half and took 3rd place with a 29-15 win. Caitlee Hall scored 9 points for Brashear, Robbyn Wagster added 8, Hailey Lawrence had 6, and Harli Mihalevich, Kacie Mihalovich, and Saydie Potter scored 2 points each. For Novinger, Holly Findling and Bailey Williams scored 4 points each, Jenna Klingsmith, Kendra Fredrick, and Ashley MOrelock had 2 each, and Taylor Schoonover scored 1 point.

The Novinger boys put big numbers on the scoreboard early on, scoring 23 in the 1st quarter and 15 in the 2nd quarter to take a 38-6 halftime lead. Brashear had their best quarter in the 3rd, scoring 8 points, but Novinger coasted to a 54-16 win for 3rd place. Ty Gottman and Wyatt Potter scored 4 points each for Brashear, and Nate Stewart, Aden Zentz, Colton Sayre, and Tristan Morrison scored 2 points each. Kail Smith and Zane Roberts led Novinger scoring with 17 and 15 points respectively. Logan Tade scored 6 points, Triston Wilson, Tanner Morrow, and Koby Linder had 4 each, and Dale Broadwell and Jesse March scored 2 points each.
