Brashear JH Basketball at LaPlata October 28, 2013
The Brashear JH basketball teams were in LaPlata Monday. The lead in the girls' game went back and forth in the 1st half with Brashear being on top 9-7 after 2 quarters of play. Brashear came out strong after the half and outscored LaPlata 13-1 in the 3rd quarter to pick up a 32-15 win. Robbyn Wagster and Caitlee Hall scored 8 points each for Brashear, Harli Mihalevich, Kacie Mihalovich, and Sayde Potter had 4 each, and Hailey Lawrence, and Mechalia Potter scored 2 points each. For LaPlata, Autumn Allen and Madison Eberling had 4 points each, Cinnamon St. Clair, Zoie Harden, and Elizabeth Larson had 2 points each, and Bethany Jackson scored 1 point.
The LaPlata boys came out firing on all cylinders and ran up a 29-7 lead by halftime. Brashear had their best quarters in the 2nd half with 8 in the 3rd and 8 in the 4th, but it wasn't enough as LaPlata cruised to a 47-23 win. Levi Blankenship and Ty Gottman scored 8 points each for Brashear, Wyatt Potter, Tristan Morrison, and Aden Zentz had 2 each, and Zane Sykes scored 1 point. For LaPlata, Mitch Cox scored 16 points, Tristan Borron and Tristan Lynch had 6 each, Trevor Pipes had 4, Logan Smith had 3, Hank Noah, Jesse Carter, Lance Couch, and Matt Lewis had 2 each, and Brandon Boston and Anthony Shearon scored 1 point each.
