Brashear JH Basketball at Novinger November 5, 2013
The Brashear Tigers were on the road Tuesday for a trip to Novinger. The 1st quarter of the girls game was a defensive battle with Brashear holding a 5-4 lead with under a minute to go. Novinger scored a last second shot to take a 6-5 lead which was the beginning of a 25-0 run the put Novinger ahead 29-12 at halftime. Brashear started the 4th quarter down 43-12, but their 15 point 4th quarter left them short as Novinger won 47-27. Robbyn Wagster scored 10 points for Brashear, Caitlee Hall added 9, Harli Mihalevich had 4, and Hailey Lawrence and Mechelia Potter scored 2 points each. For Novinger, K. Fredrick scored 15 points, H. Findling had 13, J. Klinginsmith added 7, A. Morelock had 6, P. Orwig had 4, and K. Fredrick scored 2 points.
The Novinger boys scored 15 in the 1st quarter and 11 in the 2nd to take a 26-6 lead into the half. Brashear was shut out in the 3rd quarter and scored 6 in the last quarter to fall to Novinger 45-12. Tristan Morrison scored 5 points for Brashear, Colton Sayre had 4, Aden Zentz and 2, and Zane Sykes scored 1 point. For Novinger, K. Smith led with 19 points, Z. Roberts had 11, T. Wilson added 5, C. Christman, T. Morrow, K. Linder, and J. Ballayer had 2 each, and L. Tade and J. March scored 1 point each.
