Mary Immaculate 7-8 Grade Basketball at Brashear November 8, 2013

The Mary Immaculate Hawks visited Brashear Friday. The girls game was a close contest in the 1st quarter with Brashear coming out with an 8-5 lead. Brashear blew the game open in the 2nd, scoring 14 points to take a 22-6 lead at halftime. Brashear continued to outscore the Hawks in the 2nd half and won by a score of 34-7. Hannah Reeves led all scorers with 12 points for Brashear, Harli Mihalevich and Robbyn Wagster had 10 each, and Megann McHenry scored 2 points. For Mary Immaculate, Annie Schwend scored 4 points, Melina Mansfield had 2, and Abby Kuttenkuler scored 1 point.

The Brashear boys got on the scoreboard first and never trailed in a 29-9 victory over the Hawks. The Tigers led 4-0 after one quarter and 10-2 at halftime. The Hawks had their best quarter in the 3rd, scoring 5 points, but Brashear scored 8 in the 3rd and 11 in the 4th for the win. Ty Gottman scored 7 points for Brashear, Triston Morrison had 6, Colton Sayre, Nate Stewart, and Zane Sykes had 4 each, and Wyatt Potter and Aden Zentz scored 2 points each. For Mary Immaculate, Alex Hendler scored 4 points, Nick Maag had 3, and Keegan Bird scored 2 points.
