Brashear at Atlanta December 19, 2013
The Brashear Tigers visited the Atlanta Hornets Thursday night for a pair of Tri-County Conference games. Brashear scored first in the girls game, but Atlanta answered and led 15-6 after one quarter and 32-17 at halftime. Brashear held their ground in the 2nd half, but eventually lost by a score of 52-37. Meredith Thomas scored 12 points for Brashear, Abi Kerby had 8, Allison Thompson, Abby Hall, and Hailey Lawrence added 4 each, Kylie Williams and Ashley Moncrief had 2 each, and Skylar Housman scored 1 point. For Atlanta, Ashton Ross scored 12 points, Maddie Cuppy and SSheyanne Klamert had 8 each, Shalyla Collier had 7, Jordan Teter scored 5, Sam Reed and Katy Baker had 4 each, and Danielle Welch and Alicia Strausbaugh scored 2 points each.
The Brashear boys also got on the scoreboard 1st, but Atlanta bounced back and took an 11-7 lead after one quarter. Brashear scored 12 in the 2nd quarter, but Atlanta answered with 23 to take a 34-19 lead at halftime. Atlanta outscored Brashear 14-7 in the 3rd before Brashear had a winning 8-6 quarter in the 4th giving Atlanta a victory by a final score of 54-34. Chance Hill led Brashear scoring with 20 points, Luke Morrow added 6, Jacob Bleything and Jacob Reeves had 3 each, and Gabe Thomas scored 2 points. For Atlanta, Lance Weber scored 15 points, Garrett West had 11, Lane Waddle added 8, Justin Grigsby had 7, Korbin Gunnels had 5, Collan Thrasher had 4, Ethan Baker had 3, and Corey Smothers scored 1 point.
