Brashear at Knox County February 3, 2014
The Brashear Tigers basketball teams travelled to Knox County Monday for a pair on non-conference games. The Lady Tigers fell behind by a score of 15-2 in the 1st quarter and trailed the Lady Eagles 30-4 at halftime. Brashear had their best quarter offensively in the 3rd, scoring 7 points, but Knox County had plenty of offense of their own as they defeated Brashear by a final score of 62-53. Meredith Thomas and Abby Hall scored 4 points each for Brashear, Abi Kerby had 3, and Ashley Moncrief scored 2 points. For Knox County, Sarah Dooley scored 12 points, Shanna Elder had 10, Karissa Hamlin and Madison McCabe had 7 each, Alex Hamlin and Taylor Lincoln had 6 each, Megan Poston and Keeley Strange had 4 each, Lauren Dale had 3, Lacey Watts had 2, and Amy Gudehus scored 1 point.
The Tigers faced the Knox County JV squad and kept the score close in the 1st quarter, trailing by only 24-14. Knox County extended their lead to 42-27 at halftime. Knox County outscored the Tigers 40-28 in the 2nd half to pick up the win 82-53. Gabe Thomas scored 14 points for Brashear, Jacob Reeves added 13, Chance Hill had 11, Patrick Jochimsen had 8, Colt Acton had 6, and Sam Smith scored 2 points. For Knox County, Garyn Miller and Kyle Strange scored 14 points each, Shane Clary, Derek Cahalan, and Lane Couch had 9 each, Hays Klocke scored 8, Isaiah Prebe had 7, Hunter Klocke had 6, Jacobi Miller had 4, and Mason Kurk scored 3 points.
