On Thursday night, the Lady Tiger softball team travelled to North Shelby for the first game of the 2014 season. The Lady Raiders got on the scoreboard 1st with a run in the bottom of the 2nd, but Brashear answered in the top of the 3rd to take a 2-1 lead. North Shelby tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd. Brashear looked to have a big inning in the 5th, sending 7 batters to the plate, but only coming up with one run to take a 3-2 lead. North Shelby bounced back to score 3 in the bottom of the 5th and one in the 6th to claim the victory by a score of 6-3. Abigail Kerby, Sidney Sykes, Alli Garrett and Caitlee Hall had 2 hits each for Brashear with Skylar Housman, Mandy Taylor, Abby Hall, and Hannah Reeves also having hits. Sidney Sykes pitched for Brashear, striking out 7.

Brashear took the JV game by a score of 11-3. Caitlee Hall got the start on the mound for Brashear.
