The Brashear girls played in the Knox County Softball tournament Saturday. Their first game was with Canton who quickly put 3 runs on the scoreboard in the first inning. Brashear scored in the 4th when Abi Kerby led off with a single and Sidney Sykes drove here in. That run wouldn't be nearly enough as Canton went on to win the game 11-1. Abi Kerby had 2 hits for Brashear with Mandy Taylor and Alli Garrett also having hits. Sidney Sykes got the start with Caitlee Hall pitching in relief.
Next up for Brashear was Marion County. The Lady Mustangs got their scoring started with 3 runs in the 2nd adding additional runs in the 4th, 5th, and 6th. Brashear finally got the bats going in the 6th, scoring 4 runs, but it wasn't enough as Marion County won 10-4. Abi Kerby had 2 hits for Brashear, Hannah Reeves doubled, and Skylar Housman, Mandy Taylor, Sidney Sykes, and Abby Hall also had hits. Caitlee Hall pitched for Brashear.
The final game of the day was with Paris who jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead. Brashear battled back with 3 runs in the 2nd as Alli Garrett, Abby Hall, Hannah Reeves, Erin Bradshaw, and Caitlee Hall had hits. Brashear scored 3 more runs in the 4th on hits by Abi Kerby, Skylar Housman, Hannah Reeves, and Erin Bradshaw, but it wasn't enough as Paris took the game 8 to 6. Sidney Sykes got the start for Brashear with Caitlee Hall pitching in relief.
