Green City Softball/Baseball at Brashear September 19, 2014

The Green City Gophers paid a Friday night visit to the Brashear Tigers. In the softball game, Green City struck first with a run in the top of the 1st inning. Brashear answered with 5 runs in the first, 5 in the second, and 2 in the third on their way to a 12-1 win. Skylar Housman went 3 for 3 for Brashear, Mandy Taylor, Abi Kerby, Sydney Sykes, Abby Hall, and Alli Garrett had 2 hits each, and Harli Mihalevich also had a hit. Sidney Sykes pitched for Brashear.

In the baseball game, both teams went quietly in the 1st, but the Green City bats came alive for 7 runs in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, and 2 in the 4th. Brashear's Gabe Thomas singled and scored in the 2nd, then singled and scored again in the 4th as Green City won by a final score of 14-2. Zane Sykes had a double and a single for Brashear, and Gabe Thomas had 2 singles. Jacob Bleything got the start for Brashear with Chance Hill and Will Jordan pitching in relief.
