Making Apple Butter

BHS classes were treated to a hands-on demonstration of making apple butter. Jan and J.W. England were nice enough to set up the demostration and let the students help with the project. They used 3 bushels of apples and 9 pounds of sugar simmered 6 hours over a low flame in a copper kettle to produce 52 pints of apple butter.
