ADAIR COUNTY R-II NEWSLETTER
NOVEMBER 1, 2008 Brashear, Missouri
COME MEET THE
PRESIDENT!
Brashear
Elementary students and faculty will launch Reading Week 2008, on November 17
by honoring our country and Abraham Lincoln.
Lincoln’s 200th birthday this February will be the focus of nationwide
celebrations.
During the
week, “Free to Read” themed student activities will center around President
Lincoln, America’s symbols and interesting information about the United
States. On November 21 Abraham Lincoln,
portrayed by actor Richard Fritz Klein, will visit our school to share his life
and his timeless principles. He will
present a program for students on Friday afternoon and appear again at 6:30
p.m. for families and the community.
Mr. Klein
has appeared as Abe Lincoln at many Civil War reenactments, in films on the
History Channel, the Discovery Channel, C-Span and other venues. Internationally known, Klein brings Lincoln
to life.
We are
looking forward to a unique learning experience with President Lincoln. Community members and patrons are welcome to
join us on November 21 for a lively hour of entertainment and fun with our
sixteenth president. Plan to come meet
the President!
Watch
those backpacks for fun family activities in November!

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL NEWS
Tiger Pride’s Lights on
Afterschool/Red Ribbon Kick-Off event was a success! The Jackson Weightlifting Club was exciting. Delicious pot pies were created. The game “Yan Kaloba” was a hit and “Mad
Science” was crazy cool! Thank you to
all of you who took time to be here with your families and for all those who
helped make the event possible!
Please remember that there will be
no Tiger Pride following the early dismissal on November 26 for Thanksgiving
break. This will allow families and
staff extra time to travel safely before the holiday.

contact the yearbook staff at BHS or matt_copeland@brashear.k12.mo.us

·
Lastly, if any students,
faculty, staff, or community members have any quality pictures that might be
worthy of being included in the yearbook, please bring them by the school or
